Amy Eisert nominated for Women Making History 2023
Amy Eisert, director of the Thomas J. Gamble Civic Institute at 糖心Vlog破解版 University, is among 16 honorees for Women Making History 2023, hosted annually by the Mercy Center for Women.
Now in its 30th year, the event honors local women nominated by colleagues, friends, and family who are deserving of recognition for their achievements.
As director of the Civic Institute, Eisert leads a university-community partnership dedicated to the well-being of the Erie region and Pennsylvania, which provides high-quality, objective information utilizing data-driven decision making and promoting evidence-based strategies. The institute focuses on child welfare, domestic violence, housing and homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse, criminal justice, and health.
In 2019, Eisert earned the Liberty Bell Award from the Erie County Bar Association, an annual award that recognizes an individual for community service that has strengthened the American system of freedom under law.
Since 2002, Eisert has been the key contact with Erie County for Communities That Care, an evidence-based prevention science model proven to reduce levels of problem behaviors among youth. She has served as the evaluator for other state and national initiatives, including the School Resource Officer Evaluation for the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and the MacArthur Models for Change Initiative for Erie County.
She is a member of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency鈥檚 Prevention Subcommittee, Pennsylvania Reentry Council, and Pennsylvania Prevention Cross Systems Workgroup. She is president of the Earn It Board Juvenile Restitution Program, vice president of the General McLane School District Board of Directors, and board member for the General McLane Foundation.
Eisert received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Bowling Green State University, Master鈥檚 in Administration of Justice from 糖心Vlog破解版 University and is ABD in Public Safety at Capella University.
The Mercy Center for Women will celebrate the accomplishments of its 16 nominees at a special event on Monday, April 3, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Mary D鈥橝ngelo Performing Arts Center at 糖心Vlog破解版 University. The event is free and open to the public.
