jc penny suit up event糖心Vlog破解版 University has partnered with JC Penney to provide a unique opportunity for students of the Autism Initiative at 糖心Vlog破解版 (AIM) to acquire professional clothing at reduced prices.

Those students attending the JC Penney Suit-Up Event on Saturday, April 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Millcreek Mall will enjoy an assortment of discounts, as much as 50 percent off career apparel, shoes, and accessories.

Students in the university鈥檚 Department of Fashion Merchandising will assist the AIM students in selecting stylish and sensory-friendly clothing. At times, individuals on the autism spectrum may be sensitive to scratchy seams and tags. They often avoid clothes that fit them, viewing them as too tight.

This marks the first year AIM has taken advantage of the Suit-Up event. It is part of AIM鈥檚 career path programming, which helps students prepare for internships, interviews, and jobs.

鈥淓mployment interviews are a highly stressful experience for neurotypical and neurodiverse individuals,鈥 explained AIM Director Amanda Mulder. 鈥淎n important part of the interview process is feeling confident. We are happy to provide the Suit-Up experience so our students receive support, positivity, and guidance about selecting clothing to make them feel good about presenting themselves to the world.鈥

While this event is required for junior and senior AIM students, it is strongly encouraged that freshmen and sophomores attend to learn what will help them make their best first impression.
